Datca

The Datca peninsula is a long, narrow piece of land that juts out from the lush green area just above Marmaris. At the tip of the peninsula, on a tiny island that can only be accessed by a sandy isthmus, is the enchanted site of Knidos. Approached by sea or land, this has to be one of the most sensational spots in the Aegean with two bays: one on each side of the isthmus. Knidos was once a famous city in the ancient region of Caria and the ruins are well worth visiting. The town of Datça is about halfway along the southern flank of the peninsula.
