UNESCO heritage site: Old city of Dubrovnik

Like much of Croatia, Dubrovnik is brimming with history and has been on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites for more than four decades. Indeed, it is no exaggeration to say that it is one of the most breath-taking cities on the Mediterranean, something that has not escaped the attention of the film industry: Dubrovnik has been a location for Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Robin Hood in recent years. The city was also badly damaged during the Siege of Dubrovnik in 1991 but since then has been meticulously repaired.
